Meet Your Maker
Hi, I am Grace or better known as "The Lampshade Witch". If you're wondering how this small business came to be, let me tell you! I come from a very unique background, my family is what is known as generational witches. I can trace our family line back to Salem in the late 1800's. My grandmother raised me and taught me to incorporate magic into everyday life. I have always been quite creative - everything from baking to sewing my own clothing and costumes. I have also always had an affinity for the dead. By day (and day I mean graveyard shift) I have carved out a career path for myself in the death care industry, once working for one of the largest mortuaries in the U.S. and then moving into organ and tissue harvesting. I began the creative endeavor of lampshade making (or as I have so spiritedly named them, "Nightshades"), in the beginning of 2020 with my best friend. I have since struck out on my own and rebranded and thus "The Lampshade Witch" was born!
There are plenty of lampshade makers out there these days, so I deeply appreciate your support towards my little business. With that being said, here is a little shameless self promotion. I have a welder who makes my frames and for the most part, I hand sew all my nightshades. Occasionally, I will revamp an older shade if I find one in good enough condition (those will always be sold at a slightly lower price as they require less work and materials). I am not a traditional victorian lampshade maker, I have added my own spin on these nightshades so my methods are a little more modern and cost effective which means I can charge a much better price! I also love a darker aesthetic so I cater to those who love the same. With that being said, I do lots of custom orders for those with a "lighter" decor, I can match any theme, color scheme or aesthetic you have in mind, so please always feel free to reach out on the contact page with any ideas for a nightshade you might have and we can definitely discuss how to make your nightshade dreams into a reality!
